A Short Film of our Wassail

Our wassail this year was a wonderful evening. Thank you to everyone that wrapped up and came to visit us. We think this was our best Wassail yet, the proof will be in this years crop….

Luckily filmaker Mark Whatmore was on hand to film the whole event. Here is snapshot of our evening of food and ritual along with an excellent recipe on the Guardian Website.

Observer Foods Awards 2012

The 29th of June sees the last chance to vote for your favourites in The Observer Food Awards 2012. As so many of you voted for us last year to win Best Ethical Restaurant in the UK we would love to rally your vote again.

P.S. Have a butchers at this… We have been smoking venison loin, using up the last of the clamped carrots paired with smoked Nepalese cardamom and spring honey from the orchard on the walnuts. That there rocket is wild wild rocket foraged by Miles Irving at Forager recently published on Ebury books. Get the handbook it is superb!
